On the morning of May 15, a six-memberdelegation led bySeong-Ho Ahn, president of the Korea Institute of Public Administration, whopaid a visit to Shanghai Administration Institute. Executive Vice President SHENWei chaired the meeting. Vice President GUOQingsongand relevant membersfrom the Foreign Affairs Divisionalso attended the meeting.
SHENWei extended his welcome to the delegation and gave adetailed introduction tothe development history of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC&Shanghai Administration Institute as well astheirteaching methods, objectives, and teaching characteristics. When talking about teaching methods, SHENWeipointed out that the Institute hasadopted a variety of modern teaching methods, such as themedlectures, case teaching, seminar-based teaching, on-the-spot teaching, and scenario simulation teaching, and 48,000peopleare trained annually. Meanwhile, ithas been actively engaged in international cooperation and exchanges. It has established stable cooperation with 47 foreign training institutions and famous universities, among which areHarvard University and Oxford University. SHENWei said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the Shanghai Party Institute of CPC. On this special occasion, the Instituteand the Korea Institute of Public Administration officially signed a memorandum of cooperation, which will further expand the cooperation and exchange between the two sides and promote the implementation of more cooperative projects.
Seong-Ho Ahnexpressed his thanks to Shanghai Party Institute of CPC&Shanghai Administration Institute for its hospitality.He said that although he had visited Shanghai many times, this is his firstvisit toShanghai Administration Institute. He expressed admiration for the teaching facilities and training rooms of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC&Shanghai Administration Institute. Seong-ho Ahnnoted that the Korea Institute of Public Administrationfocuses on policy research and provides policy advice to the government. At present, the Korea Institute of Public Administration does not offer education and training services. It hopes to learn from Shanghai Administration Institute in education and training, and strengthen their exchangeand cooperation in the field of scientific research and decision-making consultation. The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the two sides will promote the development of both sides.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited the media communication training rooms and other teaching facilities of Shanghai Party Institute of CPC&Shanghai Administration Institute. During the visit, the delegation will participate in the bilateral international seminar on "Government Management and Reform Innovation" jointly organized by Shanghai Administration Institute and the Korea Institute of Public Administration.
